(KNSI) – Two car fires kept the St. Cloud Fire Department busy on Thursday.

Personnel were called to an incident at Veterans Drive and 41st Avenue North just before 10:00 a.m. Flames were coming from the engine compartment of a vehicle and were rapidly extinguished thanks to crews from an engine and tower truck. Total damage is estimated at over $20,000

Mayo Ambulance and St. Cloud Police also responded. The only minor injury was to a firefighter who slipped and fell on a patch of ice in the area.

Later in the day, a car caught fire in the yard at All Care Towing just before 5:00 p.m.

St. Cloud Fire Department responded with one engine truck and was able to keep the flames contained to only the one vehicle. In a critical incident report, the department says the car was fully involved when crews got on scene, resulting in $1,000 of estimated damage. No one was hurt.

The incidents are still under investigation by the Office of the Fire Marshal.
