Slingin' Storm QB Shines

SAUK RAPIDS, Minn. (MSC) – Half of the losses for the Sauk Rapids Rice Storm have come by a single score or less. Twice the Storm came up a point short. Their near misses all season are thanks in large part to quarterback Tyler Bjork. Last week was no different, and for his efforts he is this week's All Star Trophy and Awards player of the week.

Bjork has led the Storm offense to produce over 21 points per game, including 3 times topping 28 points scored on the season. The senior signal caller, in his first season full-time under center, has put up over 1,560 yards passing this season, good for third best in the area. His 12 touchdown passes have him at 6th place in the area.

With a completion percentage just shy of 51% he has some of the best efficiency numbers in the Central Lakes Conference. He has averaged at least a touchdown throw per game, including in the 16-15 loss to Rocori in the regular season finale last week. Bjork is just shy of averaging 200 yards in pass for the season as he has helped keep Sauk Rapids Rice as one of the most competitive offenses in the league.

While the elusive win has yet to be chased down by the Storm, Tyler Bjork has led the offense with some impressive numbers, leaving them a break away from striking for that first W, at a time of year when a hot streak can reap heavy rewards.
